HAMDAN BIN RASHID'S BOPP MOON WINS CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE PRESIDENT OF THE UAE INTERNATIONAL RACE DAY
Bopp Moon, owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and UAE Minister for Finance and Industry, triumphed to victory to clinch The President of the United Arab Emirates Challenge Derby Championship at the Newmarket races in September. Jiyush, also owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid and Iset Le Belle, owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum bagged the second and third places respectively at the 2000-metre race for four-year-old Pure-bred Arabian horses.

EMIRATES SERIES
Morshdi, owned by Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Head of Dubai Police and Police Security, won the fourth leg of the 2001 Emirates World Series, EWS-the UAE Grosser Preis von Baden for three-year-olds. The EWS trophy presentation was attended by Hartmana Baron von Richthofen, President of Internationale Club, Baden Baden, winner trainer Michael Jarvis, winning jockey Philip Robinson, Michael Murtagh and Franziska Shelling-Coffey of Darley Stud and Maurice Flalagan, Group Managing Director, Emirates airlines.

ISET LA BELLE, DJINN RIDE TO VICTORY
Iset La Belle and Djinn, both the horses owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minster for Defence, won the first and the second places respectively at The President of the UAE Challenge Derby held in the beginning of September at Baden Baden, Germany.

AN ON-GOING PROCESS
It was indeed an impressive victory for Pure-bred Arabian horses in Europe Championships. Derek Thomson of BBC's Channel IV sought reaction to the Newmarket series, comprising two events of The President of the UAE Challenge Derby and The Abu Dhabi Championship International Series Race. We could only say these have no limits or borders. They form a part of the on-going process. The races aim at giving the Pure-bred Arabian horses the place they deserve."

EMMA DU CAYROU SHINES IN BADEN BADEN
Emma du Cayrou, ridden by Phillip Sogorb and owned by Jean Marie Baldy, rode to victory to clinch the Abu Dhabi International Championship races held at Baden Baden end of September. Mash Hour, Owned by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and ridden by F. Billieres, came second followed by Jawad Al Kheir, owned by Al. Aweet Stables and ridden by O.Trigodet.

A BOOST FOR PURE-BRED ARABIAN HORSING
The UAE Derby held in Deauville, France, in the beginning of August was a big boost for Pure-bred Arabian horsing in Europe. This also showed the strong support for the sport by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation.
